Iphone 3g Drops Calls With Full Signal And Fails To Send Messages?

I have a iPhone 3g. It drops calls even when i have full signal and it fails to send messages sometimes. I restorted it but nothing changed. Is there any fix i can do myself? I am handy with this kind of stuff so if u have any ideas throught them out there. Will the apple store be able to fix this easly?
I think this happend from a time when the phone was sqeezed from the screen and back, just because this was not happening before that and after it started to happen. If i put pressure on the bottom corners it seems to help but im just messing around to see what helps.
